183 Mr. P. Carey asked the Minister for Education and Science if he has received a request for refurbishment and extension work from the board of management of Phoenix Park special school; if so, the position in relation to this request; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26192/98]

An application has been received from the board of management for the provision of an extension at this school.

The application is under consideration. My Department will be in touch with the school management in the matter.
