186 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will ensure the provision of a physical education hall at the Loreto secondary school, Bray, County Wicklow, in view of the fact the school has raised sufficient funds to meet the local contribution; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The question of providing a physical education hall at Loreto secondary school, Bray, County Wicklow, can only be considered in the context of capital finance available for post-primary building purposes generally and priority must be given to the provision of essential classroom accommodation.
As a result of the great demand for classroom accommodation throughout the country at present I am not in a position to state when architectural planning will commence for the provision of a physical education hall in this particular case.
However, the application will continue to be reviewed in light of available resources and competing priorities.
