Some 15,011 people were on FÁS training schemes as at the end of December, 1997. The principal components of this figure are 3,406 on specific skills training, 1,725 in apprenticeship, 4,180 community based training and 1,860 on company based training.
Relevant data to end of October 1998 shows that a total of 15,677 people were in training. The principal components of this figure are 3,880 in specific skills training, 3,236 on apprenticeship, 4,890 on community based training and 2,123 on company based training.
