159 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the plans, if any, he has to provide additional funding for laboratory facilities at the Abbotstown research facility, County Dublin; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26392/98]
A sum of £4.233 million has been provided in the Book of Estimates for 1999 to fund my Department's research and testing requirements. This provision encompasses veterinary and other areas of activity. I am considering the allocation of the 1999 provision to the various facilities under my control, including the Veterinary Research Laboratory in Abbotstown.
