344 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Education and Science if his Department has considered an application for funding from Ossory Youth, Kilkenny, relating to a youth project for Hebron Park and Newpark Close, Kilkenny. [26290/98]
Due to the high level of ongoing commitments to existing projects under the grant scheme for special projects to assist disadvantaged youth, my Department has not been in a position to provide funding to this project in 1998.
Applications for funding for the coming year in respect of this scheme will be considered in due course and will have regard to policy considerations, existing commitments, and the overall level of financial resources available for the youth sector. Applications should be submitted to my Department via the appropriate grant administering agency, in this case the National Youth Federation.
