Tenders have not yet been invited for the construction of Ballindine national school. My Department is currently compiling a list of suitable contractors who expressed an interest in tendering for the project.

Ceist:387 Mr. Moloney asked the Minister for Education and Science the position in relation to the proposed new vocational educational committee school at Clonaslee, County Laois; the timescale within which this project is expected to be completed; his views on the necessity of this project; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Stage 3 — outline sketch scheme — of architectural planning for the project at Clonaslee was approved by the building unit of my Department recently. The building unit is awaiting further technical information from County Laois VEC before approval is given to the VEC to prepare and submit combined Stages 4-5 — detailed design-bill of quantities.
At this stage in planning, it is not possible to say when construction will commence.
