Written Answers. - Seafarer Training.
The report of the task force on seafarer training and employment was published on 19 October 1998. I have furnished the Deputy with a copy of the report. I am sending separately to the Deputy, for his information, a press release together with some press coverage on the report from that time. Arrangements are in hand to establish the interdepartmental working group which will be charged with examining the costings, financing and timing of the establishment of the new maritime college with a view to submission of a fully developed proposal for implementation to Government at an early date.
