54 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if she has responded to the promoters of the waste to energy plant at Goddamendy, County Dublin, following the decision by the European Commission to refuse European Regional Development Fund aid for the project; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I refer the Deputy to my reply to Parliamentary Question No. 48 of 10 November 1998, in which I stated that the decision of the European Commission to refuse European Regional Development Fund aid for the proposed waste to energy plant at Goddamendy had been communicated to the project promoters and that they had responded to my Department.
The issues raised in that response have been considered by my Department which has replied to the project promoters. Their response is now awaited.
