Ceist:

77 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Public Enterprise the daily requirement in respect of public transport; the extent to which this need is met at present; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [27184/98]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 75, 76 and 77 together.

The transportation review and short-term action plan, published by the Dublin Transportation Office in September, contains information on the growth in demand for transport, including bus and rail transport, in the greater Dublin area. The office will also be carrying out further work in this area over the coming months as part of the updating of the DTI strategy.

I have not ordered any research into the specific areas mentioned by the Deputy.
