Vol. 499 No. 1

Written Answers. - Harbours and Piers.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

180 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources if he will provide funding for the necessary extension of Renroe pier, Carrowteige, Ballina, County Mayo. [28372/98]

Renroe pier is owned by Mayo County Council and maintenance and development of the facility are the responsibility of the local authority in the first instance. As the pier is located in the Gaeltacht area, the question of funding for any proposed works would fall to be considered by the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands.

Joe Higgins

Ceist:

181 Mr. Higgins (Dublin West) asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources if he will supply Deputy Joe Higgins with a copy of the report commissioned by the Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry in 1994 by a company (details supplied) in relation to the 1996 strategic plan for the development of the forestry sector in Ireland, the brief for the report and the recommendations of the consultants. [1264/99]

The report in question, prepared by Deloitte & Touche Management Consultants and Jaako Poyry Consulting (UK) Limited, does not contain commercially sensitive information and I am therefore placing a copy in the Dáil Library for the information of Deputies. The report includes the brief given to the consultants and their recomendations.
