Ceist:

468 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Finance the progress to date on the provision of a new Garda station at Thomastown, County Kilkenny. [2261/99]

The Commissioners of Public Works' agreement to purchase a site for a new Garda station at Thomastown was conditional on the vendor providing a new access road. The road is currently under construction. The legal transfer of the property will be effected once the road is completed.

469 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Finance the progress to date on the provision of a new Garda station at Castlecomer, County Kilkenny. [2262/99]

A sketch scheme outlining the proposed development will shortly be forwarded to the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform for its approval, following which the planning consultation, under Part X111 of SI No. 86 of 1994, Local Government (Planning and Development) Regulations, 1994, will take place.

It is hoped to have the project ready for invitation of tenders in mid 1999 with a view to placing a contract in the autumn.

470 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Finance the progress to date on the provision of a new Garda station at Kilmogany, County Kilkenny. [2264/99]

Planning consultation procedures under Part X111 of SI No. 86 of 1994, Local Government (Planning and Development) Regulations 1994, for the erection of a basic unit to replace the existing Garda station at Kilmoganny, County Kilkenny, will commence during the first week of February 1999. Following this process, contract documents will be prepared and tenders invited with a view to placing a contract in the summer.
