Vol. 499 No. 1

Written Answers. - Hospital Developments.

Bernard J. Durkan

Ceist:

646 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Health and Children the position in relation to the Naas hospital development programme; the progress through the various planning and developmental stages to date; the plans, if any, he has for the expeditious process of the remaining procedures with a view to provision of the extra facilities as previously outlined in the near future; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2207/99]

The position in relation to Naas General Hospital is that the detailed design for the major development to be undertaken at the hospital is at an advanced stage of preparation. The schedule for the development provides for development works to commence on site in late summer/early autumn. I would like to assure the Deputy that considerable resources are being employed by the Eastern Health Board to ensure that strict adherence to the programme for the development.
