Written Answers. - Social Welfare Appeals.
The person concerned applied for disability allowance on 10 June 1998. His claim was disallowed in September 1998, following an examination by a medical assessor of my Department, on the grounds that he did not satisfy the statutory medical condition.
He appealed against this decision to the independent social welfare appeals office and was again examined by a medical assessor on 21 October 1998 with a similar result.
An appeals officer has considered his case and has decided that he is not entitled to disability allowance. A notification to this effect has now been issued.
