Carey asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will sanction the provision of one additional classroom either of a temporary or permanent structure which will be wheelchair accessible in the context of meeting the requirements of a special needs student in St. Brigid's national school, Holy Faith Convent, Glasnevin, Dublin 11; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Carey asked the Minister for Education and Science if his Department will expedite the application by St. Brigid's national school, Glasnevin, Dublin 11, for a grant for the purpose of adapting its existing facilities to the needs of one of its first class students who is severely physically handicapped and in a wheelchair; and if he will make a statement on the matter. 878 Mr. P. Carey asked the Minister for Education and Science if the application by St. Brigid's national school. Glasnevin, Dublin 11, for a grant for the purpose of replacing or carrying out major repairs on the roof of this school which is in a very bad state of disrepair will be expedited; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I propose to take Questions Nos. 875, 877 and 878 together.

A number of applications for improvement works have been received from the management of St. Brigid's national school, Glasnevin, Dublin 11. They are currently under consideration and my Department will be in contact with the board of management shortly.

My Department has no record of receiving an application for accommodation for a special needs student. If an application is received, it will be considered.
