Vol. 499 No. 1

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Brendan Howlin

Ceist:

943 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Education and Science if his Department has received an application for funding in respect of a sports hall for Kennedy Park primary school; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that there is no room on this premises to enable pupils to participate safely in physical education and indoor games and the grounds of the school are waterlogged for much of the year; if this funding application will be given favourable consideration; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1385/99]

Ivan Yates

Ceist:

982 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to a request by Kennedy Park primary school, Kennedy Park, Wexford, for financial assistance towards the construction of a sports hall; the funding, if any, available in this regard; and if approval will be granted. [1573/99]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 943 and 982 together.

My Department has received an application from the board of management of Kennedy Park national school for funding of a sport hall. A member of my Department's technical team will visit the school shortly to assess the present accomodation and the external play area at the school. When this report is to hand, my Department will be in touch with the school management.
