963 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will increase funding to the National Youth Federation for the provision of additional youth workers with reference to the Leixlip youth project; and if he will make a statement on funding for youth services in 1999. [1483/99]
The application submitted by the National Youth Federation will be considered in the context of allocations for 1999 having regard to policy considerations, existing commitments, and to the overall level of financial resources available for the youth sector. In this regard I would draw the Deputy's attention to the fact that an additional £1.5 million has been made available for youth services in 1999.
