182 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if the fodder aid package recently announced will be provided for pig producers who are currently suffering a very severe income crisis; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3669/99]

The aim of the 1999 fodder scheme which I announced last week is to give some relief to farmers mainly in the disadvantaged areas who have severe fodder shortages due to the prolonged bad weather. It is not intended to extend the scheme to pig producers.
