Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Fitzgerald – the urgent need to improve services for the homeless in Dublin; (2) Deputy Killeen – the need to ensure that Shannon Airport's role in balanced regional development in the west is not undermined in the quest for strategic partners for Aer Lingus; (3) Deputy Hayes – the need for the Minister for Education and Science to provide additional educational facilities for St. Killian's senior school, Kingswood, Tallaght; (4) Deputy Sargent – the need for the Minister for Health and Children to immediately end the practice of adding fluoride to the water supply; (5) Deputy Lawlor – the provision of a permanent library for Lucan; (6) Deputy Shortall – the need for the Minister for the Environment and Local Government to publish national guidelines for the granting of planning permission for child care facilities; (7) Deputies Theresa Ahearn and Connaughton – the crisis in private agricultural and horticultural colleges due to the non-allocation of capital grants since 1987; (8) Deputy Jim Higgins – the issues arising from this week's Supreme Court decision that a search warrant signed by a peace commissioner was invalid; (9) Deputy Gormley – the need for a comprehensive Dáil debate on the subject of genetically modified foods; (10) Deputy Joe Higgins – the concern over the rapid deployment of genetically modified food products for sale in Ireland.

The matters raised by Deputies Killeen, Theresa Ahearn and Connaughton, Joe Higgins and Fitzgerald have been selected for discussion.
