35 Ms McManus asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the purpose of the meeting between the Minister of State with responsibility for housing and urban renewal and the United Kingdom Minister for Local Government and Housing; the matters discussed; the plans, if any, for further meetings; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister of State at the Department of the Environment and Local Government (Mr. Molloy)

I met with Ms Hilary Armstrong, the Minister for Local Government and Housing in the UK Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions, on Friday, 19 February 1999 and we discussed matters of common concern in the area of housing in both countries.

Minister Armstrong visited the site of the proposed FOYER social housing development by Cara Irish Housing Association at Marrowbone Lane, Dublin, which will benefit from substantial funding from my Department, and also a number of other local authority housing developments in Dublin. There are no specific proposals for further meetings at this stage.
