166 Ms O. Mitchell asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if she has set up a unit in her Department, similar to those in the Departments of Finance and the Environment and Local Government, to examine the potential for public or private partnership ventures. [7814/99]
The Government has agreed to the setting up of a unit in my Department to pursue the promotion of public-private partnership arrangements for elements of Luas.
Consideration is currently being given to establishing this unit and the precise arrangements will be determined in the light of the advice from Arthur Andersen consultants on the resourcing and skills requirements. This advice is expected shortly.
