Vol. 502 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Paul Bradford

Ceist:

218 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the total forage area being used to calculate the beef premium entitlements and so on of a person (details supplied) in County Cork on his 1998 area aid application. [8011/99]

The applicant applied for 63.45 hectares. A query has arisen in relation to one parcel of land that is also being claimed by another herdowner. Maps have issued to both herdowners, with the aim of having the matter clarified. Pending clarification of the dual claim, this applicants payment entitlement has been calculated on an area which is reduced by the parcel in question.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

219 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive 1998 headage and premia; the number of hectares declared for each parcel of land on the 1998 area aid application; and the total forage area in this regard. [8044/99]

The applicant applied for a total of 12.27 hectares on five parcels of land. The area declared for each parcel was as follows: 2.44, 3.29, 3.02, 1.36 and 2.14 hectares respectively. A query has arisen in relation to the parcel on which 2.44 hectares was claimed. That parcel of land is also being claimed by another herdowner. Maps have recently issued to both herdowners, with a view to resolving this matter. His headage and premia payments cannot issue until these issues have been resolved satisfactorily.

Ceist:

220 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if the headage and appeals unit will expedite a decision on an appeal for a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon in view of the fact all medical evidence has been submitted. [8045/99]

The herdowner lodged an appeal on 25 November 1998 concerning his 1998 area aid application. This appeal is currently being examined and it is expected that a decision will be made by the headage and premia appeals unit in the near future.

Ceist:

221 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo has not received 1998 cattle headage and premia payments. [8046/99]

No area aid application was received in this case. If the person named forwards a postal certificate as proof of postage and a copy of the original application form submitted, my Department will have it processed.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

222 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive 1998 ten and 22 month special beef premium payments. [8047/99]

A payment of £432.78 due in respect of 1998 ten and 22 month special beef premium was offset against a 1997 payment associated with what appeared to be an area aid over declaration. Subsequently the apparent area aid over declaration was resolved following the submission of further information from the person concerned and payment of £432.78 will be made as soon as possible.
