Vol. 502 No. 3

Written Answers. - Rural Environment Protection Scheme.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

244 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the number of farmers ineligible for the REP scheme due to commonage holdings not previously included in area aid forms in and prior to 1997; and the number of farmers affected on a county by county basis. [8138/99]

Ceist:

245 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the number of farmers who will be excluded from the REP scheme due to the fact they had no headage or premia on commonage holdings in 1997; and the number of farmers who will be affected on a county by county basis. [8140/99]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 244 and 245 together.

My Department does not have information on the number of farmers who did not apply for premia/headage payments in 1997 or 1998 or who did not include commonage land in their area aid applications in those years.
