Vol. 502 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

261 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive 1998 cattle headage. [8404/99]

The area aid application of the herdowner was incomplete in that all the necessary maps were not submitted. My Department corresponded with the person named and he subsequently submitted the outstanding details. The application has now been fully processed. Any payments due will issue as soon as possible.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

262 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if headage and premia payments will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo based on his total forage area of 92.6 hectares rather than 32.3 hectares as was pre-printed in error on his application form. [8405/99]

The applicant has been written to seeking clarification of the details of a commonage area, which he has claimed. The other shareholders in the commonage have also been written to. The matter will be re-examined when responses to these letters have been received.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

263 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo is losing out on headage and premia payments due to his Department's printing error on his 1998 area aid application form; and when he will receive money due to him. [8406/99]

In order to finalise his claim my Department has issued a map to the person named, asking him to outline the land parcel in question.

Rory O'Hanlon

Ceist:

264 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a suckler scheme premium will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cavan. [8407/99]

The herdowner lodged an appeal on 26 January 1998 concerning his 1997 cattle headage application. The herdowner appealed the decision to exclude him from the cattle headage scheme for two years, that is, 1997 and 1998. The headage and premia appeals unit examined the appeal and found that the herdowner should be excluded from the 1997 cattle headage scheme only. The herdowner was informed of the outcome to his appeal on 18 March 1999.

Michael Moynihan

Ceist:

265 Mr. M. Moynihan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if the area aid problem has been resolved for a person (details supplied) in County Cork; and, if not, when it will be finalised. [8408/99]

The person named submitted an incomplete area aid application form. Every effort is being made to resolve the outstanding difficulties. If necessary, the area aid unit will contact the applicant.
