367 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Health and Children if an investigation will be made into the application by a person (details supplied) in County Kildare for a scan and two hip replacement operations; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7987/99]

The provision of orthopaedic treatment in this case, in the first instance, is a matter for the Adelaide and Meath Hospital Dublin, incorporating the National Children's Hospital.

I have, therefore, asked the chief executive officer of the hospital to investigate this case and reply directly to the Deputy.
