Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the situation with regard to English visitors to this country who are disabled and display a disabled driver's badge issued in England; their entitlement to use disabled driver's parking spaces in this country; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Road Traffic (Traffic and Parking) Regulations, 1997, provide that disabled person's parking permits issued in any other State will be recognised in this country provided that the pictorial symbol of a person sitting in a wheelchair is shown on the permit. A vehicle displaying such a permit may be stopped or parked at a disabled person's parking bay, for the convenience of the person to whom the permit is granted.
