630 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Education and Science the projected figures for primary school pupil numbers for the Erris region of north Mayo for the next ten years and, in particular, for the regions of Doohoma, Geesala and Shraigh. [8029/99]
My Department does not have projected primary school pupil numbers for the Erris area of north County Mayo covering the next ten years. Enrolments in the primary schools in Doohoma, Geesala and Shraigh have declined from a total of 249 in the 1991-9 school year to 174 in the current year. The indications are that enrolments will decline further in the next few years.
