Ceist:

662 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science if a sports hall is included in the schedule of works in the context of the extra facilities to be provided at Scoil Mhuire, Clane, County Kildare; if this facility will be provided prior to, in tandem with, or after the other promised facilities at the school; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8422/99]

The Stage 4/5, detailed design and bill of quantities, submission for the proposed extension to this school is being considered in my Department's post primary building unit and this will be completed as soon as possible. The project includes a PE hall. When the examination of the stage 4/5 submission is completed, and if satisfactory, the question of the invitation of tenders will be considered.

663 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science the progress in respect of the provision of extra facilities at Confey College, Leixlip, County Kildare; the plans, if any, he has to provide for these works at the earliest possible date; the number, if any, of remaining developmental stages to be gone through prior to allowing the project to go to tender; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8423/99]

My Department's post primary building unit is awaiting the stage 5 submission, bill of quantities, from the County Kildare Vocational Education Committee's design team for the proposed extension to this school. When this documentation has been received and examined, the question of allowing tenders to be invited will be urgently considered.

664 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science when the new second level girls school at Ballymakealy, Celbridge, County Kildare, will be ready for occupation; if the school is sufficient to meet place requirements; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8424/99]

The new school in Celbridge was planned for an enrolment of 700 pupils, however, as in all such areas of major housing development, this is being constantly reviewed. It is anticipated that the school will be ready for occupation in September and it will meet the current place requirements.

665 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science the progress to date in respect of the provision of the extra facilities at Scoil Dara, Kilcock, County Kildare; the position in relation to the project with particular reference to the remaining developmental stages and the timescale for allowing the project go to tender; the number of school places proposed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8425/99]

Stage 3, developed sketch scheme, of architectural planning for the proposed extension has recently been submitted by the school authorities and this is being examined. Once this examination has been completed and if found satisfactory, the project will be allowed to proceed to stage 4, detailed design, of architectural planning. When stage 5, bill of quantities, has been completed the project will be ready for the invitation of tenders.

It is too early to say when construction will commence.
