93 Mr. Yates asked the Taoiseach the latest figures for unemployment on the live register for County Wexford; the breakdown for Enniscorthy, Gorey, New Ross and Wexford; and the percentage this represents as a percentage of the population and workforce. [7729/99]

Estimates of the unemployment rate are not available for counties or social welfare office catchment areas. However, the unemployment rate in the south east region in spring 1998, as measured by the quarterly national household survey, was 9.7 per cent compared to 7.8 per cent for the State.
