Vol. 502 No. 6

Written Answers. - Tax Rebates.

John V. Farrelly

Ceist:

187 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Finance the reason an income tax refund has not been paid following redundancy to a person (details supplied) in County Meath who finished employment on 13 January 1999; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8723/99]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the inspector of taxes has no record of having received an application for a tax refund from the taxpayer.

The inspector has reviewed the taxpayer's liability for 1998-99 and, based on the information available to him, has ascertained that a refund of £115.78 is due. A cheque for this amount will issue to the taxpayer this week.
