Ceist:

200 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Health and Children if a person (details supplied) in County Sligo will be called for his hip operation in view of the fact his condition has deteriorated; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8712/99]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons living in County Sligo is the statutory responsibility of the North-Western Health Board in the first instance. I have asked the chief executive officer of the North-Western Health Board to investigate this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
