205 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Health and Children if the application for an early appointment will be investigated for a person (details supplied) in County Kildare who is in need of an urgent knee replacement operation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8790/99]

The provision of orthopaedic treatment in this case is in the first instance, a matter for Cappagh Orthopaedic Hospital. I have therefore asked the chief executive officer of the hospital to investigate this matter and reply directly to the Deputy.
