Vol. 502 No. 6

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

John McGuinness

Ceist:

217 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if his Department will investigate the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny who is a patient in St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny, is waiting for a serious operation in Beaumont Hospital, Dublin 9, and has not been admitted in view of the fact there are no beds available; the reason he was called to Beaumont Hospital recently; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9009/99]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in this instance is the responsibility of Beaumont Hospital. I have asked the chief executive officer of the hospital to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
