75 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources when necessary work will be carried out by the North West Fisheries Board on the Ballymote Lakes in County Sligo in view of the fact that money has been allocated and a major programme of events has been planned by the angling club; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The funding for this coarse angling development project was approved under the tourism angling measure in April 1998. The development work is contingent on obtaining legal agreements with landowners and owners of fishing rights in relation to access, which the North Western Regional Fisheries Board is pursuing with a view to carrying out the works in late 1999.
