113 Mr. M. Higgins asked the Minister for Defence the ad hoc advisory committees and groups in relation to policy or implementation, the statutory committees, permanent groups, interdepartmental groups, advisers, consultants and unestablished civil servants appointed in his Department; and the cost or remuneration in each case paid since July 1997 to date. The position regarding consultants and unestablished civil servants who have been appointed in the Department of the Defence since July 1997 is as follows :

Mr. Jim Casey, Personal Assistant to the Minister

Current Salary is £21,604 per annum (2nd Point of H.E.O. Scale)

Ms Deirdre Harding, Personal Secretary to the Minister

Current Pay is £313.34 per week (9th Point of Secretarial Assistant Scale)
