208 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Education and Science if a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be granted a laptop computer for his educational needs in view of his medical condition and the fact that all information requested has been submitted to his Department. [9507/99]

In the light of further information obtained since my previous answer on Tuesday 23 March 1999, my Department has sanctioned a grant to the school for the purchase of a laptop computer for the use of the pupil in question. My Department is writing to the school regarding the terms of this sanction.
