An appeal against a 10 per cent penalty imposed on a third year REPS payment was received from the person named on 23 February 1999. This appeal has been forwarded to the regional inspector for investigation and examination. When a report is received from the regional inspector, the entire matter will be fully considered by my Departments REPS appeals committee. The person named will then be informed directly of the outcome.

A duplicate claim has been determined on one of the parcels claimed by the person named. The herd owner was written to in this connection. Processing her 1998 application cannot be completed pending a response to this query.
