Vol. 504 No. 4

Written Answers. - Tax Rebates.

Ivan Yates

Ceist:

174 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Finance if a person (details supplied) in County Wexford is due an income tax rebate for his seasonal employment in view of the fact he is currently unemployed; if there is a claim in this regard; and, if so, when payment will issue. [12178/99]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the inspector of taxes has reviewed the taxpayer's liability for the 1998-99 tax year and has calculated that a refund of £144.78 is due. There is no record of a claim by the taxpayer for a refund of income tax.

A cheque for £144.78 issued to the taxpayer today.
