184 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children if he has received a request from the Southern Health Board to fund a day-care centre at CARA House, Cork city; and, if so, when he intends to make money available. [11939/99]
I regard the provision of day care centres as a vital component of our overall strategy for the care of older people. The Southern Health Board has plans to provide up to 30 additional such centres over the next few years. The CARA House project is high on the board's priority list and I hope to provide the required capital funding, £126,000, as soon as available resources permit.
