232 Mr. Barrett asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands her views on the restoration of the Asgard for sailing conditions rather than committing it to a museum as an exhibit in view of receipt by her of a report from the Heritage Council regarding its future. [12090/99]
I refer the Deputy to my reply to Questions Nos. 28, 32 and 40 of 29 April last on this issue. As I stated on that occasion, I am awaiting the advice of the National Museum of Ireland regarding the application which has been received from the Asgard Restoration Project Limited for a licence to undertake restoration work on the vessel. Until that advice is received and considered, it would be inappropriate for me to comment further.
