Vol. 504 No. 4

Written Answers. - Licensing Laws.

Tony Gregory

Ceist:

242 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the terms and conditions of the drinking licence, if any, granted to a premises (details supplied) in Dublin 1; the concerns, if any, the gardaí have regarding the manner in which this premises is managed; if fire safety and other matters were examined; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11970/99]

I have been informed by the Garda authorities that there is no licence for the sale of intoxicating liquor in existence in respect of the premises referred to by the Deputy.

I am further informed that on 1 May 1999 a complaint was made to the Garda alleging the sale-consumption of alcohol on the premises. This complaint is currently under investigation by the Garda authorities.

The matter of fire safety falls to be addressed by the fire officer and the local authority.
