Vol. 504 No. 4

Written Answers. - Employment Action Plan.

John Gormley

Ceist:

106 Mr. Gormley asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if her attention has been drawn to the call from the INOU (details supplied) to improve the information regarding the outcomes for people attending a FÁS interview under the employment action plan in order to monitor the types of jobs, duration of contracts and wage levels; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [12286/99]

The monthly reports on the employment action plan already contain a very significant amount of information. I am aware that the Irish National Organisation of the Unemployed has written to officials in my Department seeking further details to be recorded each month on the outcomes for those referred under the employment action plan. I understand that similar requests have likewise been raised and discussed at one of the Partnership 2000 standing committees. FÁS is currently examining the position to determine if the additional detail sought can be readily obtained and incorporated in the monthly reports.
