Expenditure on the tribunal up to Monday, 10 May 1999 was £3,446,839. The tribunal was established on 4 November 1997 giving a total of 554 days up to 10 May. This gives an average daily cost to date of £6,222, including weekends, holidays and the initial set-up period before the tribunal commenced its work. The tribunal held 82 public and private sittings up to 10 May.
