The European Commission has raised a number of issues in relation to the proposals submitted by my Department. My Department responded to the Commission and subsequently officials met with the Commission to deal with outstanding points. Some further clarifications were provided to the Commission following that meeting. As a result, I am confident of getting agreement on the measure within the next few weeks.
Application forms will be available in my Department's local offices as soon as possible after the commission's approval is received.
