Vol. 505 No. 6

Written Answers. - Children's Centre.

Alan Shatter

Ceist:

244 Mr. Shatter asked the Minister for Education and Science the date a person (details supplied) applied to retire from a position in Finglas children's centre; the consultation, if any, which took place with this person before the application for retirement was made; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14270/99]

The person referred to by the Deputy applied to retire from a position in the Finglas Children's Centre with effect from 31 December 1992 on grounds of ill-health under the terms of the special schools superannuation schemes. The application to retire under the scheme was dated 12 December 1992.

The person in question had notified the director of the Finglas Children's Centre on 1 December 1992 of her intention to retire and the director of the centre made the Department aware of this. The only record of any consultation which my Department had with the person in question in this matter relates to the normal administrative processing of such an application.
