Written Answers. - Millennium Projects.

Michael Bell

Ceist:

54 Mr. Bell asked the Taoiseach the consideration, if any, he will give to sanction a budget for the millennium for St. Laurence's Gate, Drogheda, County Louth, one of the oldest and best known monuments in the State; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14505/99]

The National Millennium Committee is to advise on projects of a national significance for inclusion in the Government's millennium programme. To ensure that millennium funding is also available for locally based projects, a £2 million millennium recognition awards initiative has recently been announced and advertised in the national press. The awards are being administered by Area Development Management (ADM) on behalf of the National Millennium Committee. Details of the awards and application forms are available from ADM (Millennium Recognition Awards), Holbrook House, Holles Street, Dublin 2 (Tel: 01-6617326).

The National Millennium Committee has not received a proposal in respect of St. Laurence's Gate, Drogheda, County Louth.
