Vol. 505 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

John V. Farrelly

Ceist:

98 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Meath will receive a REP scheme payment in view of the fact that it is due since February 1999; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14201/99]

The person named lodged a fifth year REPS application on 8 March 1999. This case was chosen at random for a pre-payment inspection. The inspection took place on 21 May 1999 and payment will issue shortly.

Paul Bradford

Ceist:

99 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will be paid 1999 ten and 22 month beef premia. [14239/99]

Under the EU rules governing payment of premium, payments are made after 1 November in the year of application.

Paul Bradford

Ceist:

100 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will be paid a grant under the fodder scheme. [14240/99]

The person named qualifies for assistance under the milk element of the general fodder scheme. As he did not submit an area aid form in 1998 details of the status of his forage area had to be clarified prior to payment. Arrangements are now being put in place to make this payment as soon as possible.

Donal Carey

Ceist:

101 Mr. D. Carey asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Clare was not paid under the headage scheme. [14241/99]

The person named declared a total of 4.91 hectares on his 1998 area aid application. Based on this area he received his full entitlement of £419.15 under the 1998 cattle headage scheme on 17 November 1998. This amount is in accordance with clause 27 of the terms and conditions governing the scheme which provides that an applicant qualifying for headage grants may not receive more than £89.62 per forage hectare in respect of beef breed suckler cows, and £55.99 per forage hectare in respect of other cattle, subject to an overall stocking rate of 1.4 livestock units per forage hectare.

The person named did not apply under any other headage scheme.

Brendan Kenneally

Ceist:

102 Mr. Kenneally asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if the decision to refuse a grant under the scheme of installation aid will be reviewed for a person (details supplied) in County Waterford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14267/99]

The person in question made an application under the revised scheme of installation aid in 1992 which extended the participation of the scheme to young qualified farmers set up on land which included leased land and to part-time farmers who became full time farmers, provided the farm had a labour requirement of at least one man work unit but not more than 1.5 man work units. In this case the person was deemed ineligible for the aid as he was set up on a farm which had a labour requirement in excess of 1.5 MWUs when the leased land was included.
