Vol. 505 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

107 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive payment of 1998 area aid. [14314/99]

The above herdowner's application has been fully processed and there are no outstanding errors. Any extensification payments due will issue as soon as possible.

Paul Connaughton

Ceist:

108 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the consideration, if any, he will give to paying a grant to farmers under the control of farmyard pollution scheme for converted farm buildings; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14331/99]

The proposed scheme for the control of farm pollution awaiting the approval of the European Commission makes provision to grant aid the conversion of existing farm structures to new requirements provided the converted structure is of a type which would qualify for grant aid under the scheme and would comply with my Department's minimum technical specifications.

Jimmy Deenihan

Ceist:

109 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a REP scheme payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14374/99]

This application was chosen at random for a detailed plan examination and on-farm inspection. At that inspection the agri-environmental plan was found to contain a number of deficiencies which needed to be rectified in a revised plan. My Department wrote to the person named on 6 May 1999 to inform him of this. His REPS planner has also been written to outlining the deficiencies involved and requesting that a revised agri-environmental plan be submitted. Payment cannot be processed until a satisfactory plan is submitted.

The person named will have a 10 per cent penalty imposed on that payment as he was found not to be in compliance with the requirements of his REPS plan.

Liam Aylward

Ceist:

110 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if payment will be arranged under the 1998 headage scheme to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny in view of the fact that requested information has now been submitted to the area aid section. [14388/99]

The area aid application of the person named contained an overclaim on a commonage resulting in a 100 per cent penalty being imposed. This resulted in no area linked aid being paid to the person for 1998.

Seymour Crawford

Ceist:

111 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Cavan has not received a hardship grant; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14459/99]

The person, details supplied, did not make a grant application before the expiry date of this scheme.
