Written Answers. - Coastal Protection.
My Department is not responsible for coastal protection works, which are the responsibility of the local authority and the Department of the Marine and Natural Resources. However, my Department has received an application under Scéim na mBóithre Áise (accommodation roads scheme) in respect of the works referred to by the Deputy. My Department has been in consultation with Mayo County Council which has very recently submitted an engineer's report, which is currently being considered by my Department.
The funds provided under Scéim na mBóithre Áise for 1999 have already been allocated.
