Ceist:394 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Education and Science if his Department will consider the urgent need for a remedial teacher for schools (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14876/99]

Arrangements are currently being made in my Department to extend the remedial teacher service to all first and second level schools with effect from September 1999.
I am pleased to inform the Deputy that the schools to which he refers will be included in this extension of the remedial service.
