At the commencement of the school year the chief executive officer of each vocational education committee was required to certify that the approved teacher allocation for the 1998-99 school year would not be exceeded.
VECs are being requested to submit returns giving details of the actual teacher utilisation for the year. However, on the basis of interim returns already received, my Department anticipates that the final returns will confirm that approved teacher allocations have not been exceeded.
